BoE's Mann: Inflation drivers still strong
Catherine Mann, a member of the Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee, said the UK was still facing strong domestic drivers of inflation, as well as the aftereffects of rising international energy prices and the coronavirus pandemic. Speaking at a panel organised by the American Enterprise Institute, Mann said: "There is still a lot of momentum in the fundamental drivers of inflation. We took the decision to raise interest rates today because domestic inflation dynamics are still very strong."
