Rail Traffic Volume in the U.S. Rises by 4.5%

Foreks - The total volume of rail transportation in the United States increased by 4.5% in the week ending November 9 compared to the same week last year. According to the data released by the Association of American Railroads (AAR), the total freight transportation by rail amounted to 519,115 cars. Freight transportation by car decreased by 3.7% to 224,722 cars, while intermodal freight transportation rose by 11.7% to 294,393 cars. In the same week, the amount of coal transported by rail in the U.S. decreased by 14.5% to 58,809 cars.
